Institute of Water Scottish Area Autumn Seminar – Friday 9 September

The Institute of Water Autumn Seminar on “Risk & Resilience” recently took place on Friday 9th September, in the Auditorium of the Hoden Centre, Livingston.

The water sector is facing challenges due to many issues including climate change, aging assets and a growing population and this event discussed how as a nation we must be more resourceful and innovative, and adapt to new technology as well as the changing expectations of customers and employees.

A thought provoking and informative event on the challenges facing the water sector; the seminar featured a very impressive line up of speakers including Gary O’ Sullivan, Partner at Pathfinder who spoke about “Building Resilient Capability”.

Other key and informative speakers included Douglas Millican, Chief Executive of Scottish Water; Roseanna Cunningham, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform in Scotland; Belinda Oldfield, General Manager for Revenue and Risk in Scottish Water, who was recently voted in the Top 50 Women in Engineering in the UK in 2016; Alan Sutherland, CEO of Water Commission; amongst many others.
