The Irish Medical and Surgical Trade Association (IMSTA), the organisers of the Awards, was established in 1982 to represent the medical technology supply industry in Ireland.
The purpose of the Awards is to recognised the excellent work being undertaken in Ireland within the medical technology sector. Med tech plays a key role in the Irish economy, employing 30,000 people and accounting for approximately 10% of Irish exports.
In their sixth year, the awards continue to grow and have become the foremost event for those engaged within the sector. To date, the awards have received diverse entries from hospitals, researchers, entrepreneurs and industry. Previous Award winners come from acute hospital research teams, primary health care providers, SME start-ups, community health care products, digital health entrepreneurs, global med tech companies, local distributors and many other extraordinary people and health care professionals.
At this year’s Awards, Joe Schmidt, is the guest speaker. He will discuss his experiences as coach of Ireland’s rugby team.
